| Known as "Nika" by friends and family, Alicia is a solitary pagan grounded in the misty woodlands of Connecticut with Jake, her black Coon-Angora cat. A walker of the bardic path, she weaves her partnership and co-creation with the Mysterious Ones, especially Mór Rioghán, Brighid, Áine, and PtesanWi, into poetry and storytelling. She is also a Nationally Certified Licensed Massage Therapist, Usui Reiki Master-Teacher, and Labor Doula - professions shaped by warmth, understanding, and a natural, intuitive inquisitiveness rooted in personal experience. Her interest in alternative therapies began as a child, after witnessing family members cope with heart disease, multiple sclerosis, kidney failure, stroke, and depression. Her own journey into the labyrinth after an attempted rape at fourteen has nuanced her work with compassion and quiet strength. She is a member of the American Massage Therapy Association, International Association of Reiki Professionals, and Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association. In 2003, Alicia graduated from Johnson State College, in north-central Vermont, with a BA in Political Science and a minor in Journalism. She then returned to Connecticut, where she continued her schooling at the Teamwork Allied Health Academy, receiving a diploma in Massage Therapy. Her education in Reiki, Healing Stone Massage, Ancient Ayurveda, and as a Labor Doula has contributed to her versatility as a healing facilitator, who has a firm belief in connecting clients and students to their own body-mind-spirit wisdoms. She is currently taking classes in the Interfaith Ministry Program at The New Seminary, located in NYC. To learn more about her community and interests, visit the Links page.
